George Washington once said,  "I have always considered marriage, as the most interesting event of one's life, the foundation of happiness or misery"
Marriage we all know is one of the oldest institutions in human history. One that many people yearn to enroll in, while others can't wait to graduate from,  cum laude or without honors. 
In some countries like the United States of America, 50% of marriages end in divorce, In my home country, Nigeria,  that will be 0.05%. especially with the Igbo ethnic group of which Stephanie is a descendant.
In Igbo land, marriage is not till death do you part, but even after death.
Most Igbo widows rarely remarry, although things are changing these days.

So it was with joy, that I welcomed the news of Stephanie Okereke's wedding, a Nollywood celebrity, an Actress of note
So here is a tribute  Stephanie, on your marriage, which happened on 21st April 2012, in Paris. Like the French would say " Je vous souhaite un heureux mariage' 
I saw the wedding video and it was spectacular, no expenses spared to create a fairytale event,  most Nigerian girls can only dream of. Stephanie, you picked the right venue. Paris the city of love and romance.
Although some of us rebellious souls might have done things a little differently, daring agelong traditions, and doing the unthinkable in my culture.
Runoff to Las Vegas, and say the " I do" privately and probably play a few Blackjacks at a casino nearby. Then head off,  to some remote island in the Caribbean or Pacific for the honeymoon.
By the time my numerous relatives know it, I have tied the knot so tight, no one can break it.
I can just imagine the look on their faces, no list, no bride price, no aso ebi, (Nigerian outfits made from matching fabric to be worn by a group of people to a party, wedding, or funeral ) no street/village parties

me laughing into my dimpled palms, that my dreams have come true. To taunt some traditions, that I think should disappear into the labyrinths of history.
Who am I kidding, I could never find a man that adventurous,  that I like enough to marry.
