Congratulations on the arrival of your baby boy!

Before the Arrival.

Months ago, the internet was on fire as pictures of Rihanna and her beautiful baby bump were revealed in New York City. That picture of a new life growing inside her is the prettiest picture in the world. Congratulations to my Caribbean sister and her partner. I am thrilled for both of them. To give space for a new life is the selfless thing in the world. And I recently found out ASAP's dad was originally from Barbados! No wonder they have a magical connection.

You know how everybody takes an interest in celebrities' business. We all have something to say. After all, they are part of our lives and existence. So after the initial congratulations, especially in our very conservative Nigerian community. My people (Nigerians) have a Ph.D. in giving unsolicited advice to every and anyone. 

Some in my community are debating why she did not first marry ASAP before the pregnancy. To Nigerians, marriage is the alpha and omega of their existence! Don't even get me started on the topic. Many lives have been ruined because of marriages that should never have been allowed to happen. And with that notion, they miss the bigger picture. The most important thing is that both Rihanna and her partner are going to be great parents to the little one on the way, something a piece of paper cannot fix.

If they decide to sign papers in societally recognized marriage later that is fine. but should not be the focus of their relationship if that is not their choice at this time. They look happy and have agreed to have a child together. That is more important than any piece of legal document. Once they have agreed in their hearts, in my opinion, that is marriage, a contract has been sealed. Anything else is for show.  Marriage is an agreement between two people, needing witnesses is just for legal purposes.

So I'm is wishing Rihanna and ASAP Rocky a happy life together. Congratulations!

And as the little one continues to grow, Rihanna has shown the world that the most beautiful woman in the world is— a pregnant woman. She has given the fashion industry maternity fashion for the ages. Owning her body like I have never seen a pregnant woman do before. And giving us all a first-row seat at the fashion show. In every picture, she looks spectacular. In the May 2022 Vogue cover, she proved to all that nurturing another is the greatest gift to humanity for those who choose.

A woman's body in its natural state is a beautiful work of art, Incubating another life within it makes it a masterpiece. Seeing all the beauty of her pregnancy makes my ovaries sing.
